"There is nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, and training us to live God's way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us."

2nd Timothy 15-17, The Message: Remix (paraphrase version of the Bible)

First Christian Church offers a variety of Christian Education opportunities for sustaining and growth of a Christian walk of life. Join us every Sunday for Bible study from 9:30-10:20 am.

Sunday Morning Classes

Nursery (Infant - Kindergarten)
Teacher: Debbie Small

The Nursery Sunday School Class starts with attendance and offering. We have a short lesson learning of God's love, the care and help he gives us as well as other Bible stories, and end our lesson with a prayer. Different lessons consist of color time and hands on learning activities.  Before getting up for play and wiggle time each student gets a chance to hold the Bible as we sing The B-I-B-L-E.

Disciples in Training (Grade 1-4)
Teacher: Marta Carpenter

This class uses Heart Shaper curriculum to shape you heart’s with God’s word.  Heart Shaper keeps kids close to God’s heart.  Kids journey through the Bible by learning stories, verses, and Bible use skills.  This class aims to develop positive attitudes toward God, Jesus, church, family, and community.

Time Travelers (Grade 5-8)
Teacher: Susan Klang

When did God tell Noah to build the ark? What did Moses think when he came upon the burning bush? Who sent the Wise men? Don't Know?! Have no fear…the Time Travelers are here! We travel through each book of the Bible, discussing what happened, where it happened and when it happened. Picking out some cool clip art and using our artistic ability (or in my case not so artistic ability) we create awesome posters to reinforce what we learned. This is a fun, easy way to work our way through the GREATEST book ever written. Join us as we Explore the Bible …one book at a time!

Of course being Time Travelers we veer off course from time to time to explore current events. Like the claim that Noah's ark had been found on Mount Ararat in Turkey or tracking down the whereabouts of the Ark of the Covenant! Along the way we work on a community project or two, like a canned food drive for our local SERVE organization. Who knows what direction we will blast off in next time? Join us for the ride!!

Senior High School (Grade 9-12)
Teacher: Keith Speer

The senior high youth Sunday School Class is designed to provide adolescents with opportunities for spiritual, social, and emotional growth.  We cover a variety of topics in creative ways that are all based on the development of a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Our goal is to create a fun learning environment that is accepting. Students are encouraged to express themselves and take part in group discussions as we explore issues that face every Christian and their faith from a day-to-day basis.  The class often sponsors events outside of the regular allotted time to help further learning and promote fellowship among the students and with the church..

Couples/Mellon
Teacher: Lemoine Tisch

We are an engaged and active group of adults. We represent several generations with a mix of single and married.  Each Sunday we spend time exploring and studying Bible lessons through the David C. Cook Adult Bible Study Series. We enjoy the fellowship of being together and sponsor at least two get-togethers beyond our Sunday gatherings.  One of these is a Christmas Dinner Party usually on the first Sunday of December.  We welcome and encourage you to come join the fun of fellowship, sharing the joy of learning and the making of life-long friendships—Everyone is welcome to join us!

Dunlap challenges the class discussion with solid Biblical knowledge and understanding.
